I can go on and on. Alabama's dynasty is neat, but it's not all time great.

So who was better? Nebraska? They won their national championships when Oklahoma who was their chief conference competition was a shell of itself. Also was gifted a share of the national title in 1997 and didn't even play the other top team in the country, Penn State for the title in 1994. Miami? Won three of their four national championships playing at home in the Orange Bowl where they were unbeatable. Had a very pedestrian record when they played in big bowl games outside the state of Florida. Florida State? Played in the atrocious ACC for most of their run and won their national titles in years Miami was down. USC? Had losses to teams that finished the season unranked in 2003, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Most of their success came at a time when the other traditional powers in the Pac-10 like UCLA and Washington were down. Also, Oregon wasn't the powerhouse they would later become under Kelly. Oklahoma? The Big 8 wasn't referred to as Oklahoma and the Seven Dwarves for nothing. I can go on and on with other great teams that had great runs. All of them had flaws to their resume.

Yeah...a lot of people forget that Nebraska only played a Top 2 team once during their run in the mid-90s. #2 Penn State couldn't play them in 1994 due to contractual obligations to the Rose Bowl and #1 Michigan couldn't play them in 1997 for the same reasons. They were good but they didn't play the second best team in the country in '94 and was barely awarded a share of the national title in 1997 because Tom Osborne was retiring and the Coaches wanted to give him a grand send off.

Always kinda thought you were an idiot with your relentless bashing of Greg McElroy but this is a very solid post that makes a convincing argument for Bama's current run as being the GOAT
