Article is a summary of the entire Richt era. Meanwhile teams like Mizzo, FSU, and UCLA have steamrolled by us in national relivence. Blame can be spread far and wide but the buck stops wtih the man in charge.

Amen, brother.

Imbalanced recruiting. I have called it gaps in positional recruiting, but defer to the better verbiage.

That is why when we are loaded at RB, the Oline sucks, and when all of the front 7 D looks good, we start 3 to 4 rookies at Dback. On and on and on.

The year we got Mason, for a LONG time the strategy was to not sign a QB, unbelievable as that may be.

Imbalanced recruiting, endless problems with coordinators, satisfaction with a "good" season and poor special teams gets you exactly what we have.

Not even a FLA bowl this year boys, buckle up for the Music City, Liberty or Independence. Just hope we don't draw Central Florida again. I would hate to take that beating twice in 4 years.

No matter how you slice it, it boils down to coaching. I have been looking back at Missouri's recruiting classes:
2013 #41 ranked class
2012 #31
2011 #48
2010 #20

Most of their classes are composed of 3 star players with maybe 1 or 2 four stars mixed in. Meanwhile Georgia has top 10 classes most seasons. The difference: Missouri's coaches seem to be doing more with less. We've seen this before with Boise St. and WVU. Missouri's players stick with the team and are better developed while we lose many of our recruits to various forms of attrition not the least of which is top players jumping to the NFL leaving us with insufficient depth. It seems that at times there might be an advantage in recruiting players that are not top pro prospects because they stay with your team and play at a mature level as Juniors and Seniors.
