Please don't be like BowlJackoff and tell me that the remakes of Halloween and Texas Chainsaw are "awesome".

What was wrong with Rob Zombie's "Halloween" ? Little Jason was freaky as shite, and his sisters were slutty and hot and so were the baby sisters friends when she grew up.

Terrible movie. There should be a golden rule to never remake a classic horror movie. Only a few have been nearly as good as the original, but they are few and far between.

For example, the new Evil Dead was awesome and was very much a solid stand alone movie. Regardless, the original Evil Dead is a cult classic and still trumps the new version.

That's about it.

As far as Saw is concerned, the first Saw was pretty good but not great. It was good enough to spawn a spectacle of needless sequels which generally indicates that it was fairly generic.

Gore is not horror. It's just needless blood, bone breaking, and finger nail scratching on wood. Sure, that stuff is cringe inducing, but it's not horror.

IMO.
