Kentucky fans keep comparing Calipari to Saban (mostly because Calipari compares himself/UK to Saban/Bama) but I see little to no resemblance. Saban has an actual respect for the game and his opponents and would never say something like "Alabama is college football." That sounds a lot more like something a Walmart fan would say as opposed to the head coach of a program.

Personally I would hate the idea of cheering for a program that relies solely on one and done athletes. Having the occasional one and done is normal, but having a new starting 5 of 18 year olds every year is about like cheering for an AAU team.

And I have a lot of family from Kentucky and grew up cheering for UK basketball. But I have lost a lot of respect for the program with how they sold their souls to get Calipari. Calipari is a better fit for a program like Memphis, not a traditional power like UK. UK should not need to recruit only one and done kids to win.

The similarities that I see between the two are that they at both at the top of their profession, when it comes to developing talent. Saban can lose almost all of his defensive starters and have the best defense in the nation the next year. Cal can lose almost his whole team and still be a contender the next year. And the only difference in college basketball and football are the rules for going pro. If Saban's guys could leave for the NFL after one year, they would. Don't kid yourself.
