This is a major concern, and further proof that we might not have the right man for the job. Having a complex system doesn't benefit anyone, if the guys have no idea what they are supposed to do.

This is how it should be. These guys are high level athletes. It sounds like this playbook is making them think too much, which is why a lot of the guys look lost out there. Let them do what they know, let them ball out and make plays.

I guarantee this is a direct result of our lack of turnovers (if true). These guys are so focused on trying to figure out where they should be and who they are covering, that by the time its time to make a play on the ball its too late.

I think this is how I feel as well. Supposedly Grantham has a check for any and every formation the O lines up in. So as soon as the O lines up our guys are either looking to the sidelines for the check or trying to think about what to do in about 2 seconds. That's counterprodcutive.

Exactly. I know it sounds insulting but it's not..but we shouldn't be making them think. That's what makes you a step slow or miss an assignment. Just have like 10 different plays/formations, call one in and let them execute it, regardless of what the O looks like. Obviously if we're in goal line and they're in 5 wide we've got an issue, but for the most part just let these guys do what they do.
