what casual fans perceive as a major violation are deemed as secondary in nature by the NCAA. So fans want the hammah to come down when the NCAA sees it as secondary in nature and only punish with a slap on the wrist. Is there an example of what you perceive as an injustice
However repeated secondary violations of the same nature or INTENTIONAL violations are major violations.
Given the fact that Bama reported the Davis-Fluker situation in May, you'd have to expect that they touched base with their coaches about violations.
Harris signed a statement once a year saying that we has/would report any violations "he has knowledge of" and also had to pass a test. He knew exactly what he was doing was in violation of the rules.
He is a paid employee of UA. He is a member of the athletic department and coaching staff.
Compounding his breaking of the rules with the loan, he failed to report it and as a member of the coaching staff allowed a player to participate in four games knowing he was ineligible (I think that makes 20-straight counting Fluker)
Yes, for HCD his correct punishment is to be suspended a game or two. Relatively minor.
But for Alabama, bc Harris is a paid employee and football staff member THE UNIVERSITY intentionally committed the violation, failed to report it and allowed an ineligible player to play.
Along with Fluker playing a full season after taking money from an Alabama booster who was working for an agent and playing for a whole season, Bama should be punished. Vacate all wins where ineligible players played, lose 2-3 scholarships and 2 years probation. Disassociate Davis from the program

It's just comical that no media reports this or harps on it

If not, it's only because the NCAA dropped the ball (or Emmert wants to protect his buddy)
The games this year for sure since the university knew.
Last year? Well you could make the case the school didn't know about Fluker...but the nCAA has not let that stop them in the past

I'll just bet you wanted the hammah to come down on AU when the NCAA found no - not even secondary - violations on Cam. Admit it. You wanted it badly.
AU has been complaining about this unfair treatment forever and gotten made fun of. It's about time a few other programs see what's going on. If the NCAA had even bothered to investigate the TTown Menswear stupidity, it would have been better than letting bammer TELL THEM everything was okay. At leasst they would show a little fairness. Who else is allowed to dictate to the NCAA what they investigate.

Wonder how long it will be before Auburn hires Magnum PI and puts him on the Alabama case?

Well, feel free to not comment, but it is certainly not stupid. Those pictures of Albetar with all your players - bammer fans would be out for blood if they knew another school's boosters hung out with the players. At least investigate and prove that he was not making it worth their while to spend what looked like most of their spare time at his store and hanging out with him. At least ask why?

I must have missed something about this.
Are you suggesting that someone other than UA compliance reported the violation?
Or
Are you suggesting that UA knew about this and sat on it?
I'm under the impression that as soon as UA compliance found out about the violation, they took immediate action.

Re-TTMW..like many, I've seen the photos of players signing stuff and I've seen photos of the signed stuff being displayed for sale.
Are there photos of the players receiving benefits from the autographs that I've not seen, or is it a given that they just had to have been receiving money in exchange?

All athletic department staff (except clerical) are required to report violations immediately upon finding out. That is an NCAA rule.
Corey Harris is a paid employee of the University of Alabama, a paid member of the athletic department, and of course a paid member of the football coaching staff.
Ergo "the University of Alabama knew". The athletic department knew, the coaching staff knew.
Oh wasn't saying the compliance dept sat on anything .

TTowns menswear is the official provider for the game day attire for the players and coaches. The suits are part of their game day uniform and therefore the athletic department can pay for them.
Just like whatever the Au players wear prior to kick off during tiger walk, suits or is it Au sweat pants /etc. Is paid for for by the Au athletic department.
So, the idea that they were getting free suits for their signatures is incorrect. they do get them free, only the U of A athletic Dept picks up the tab. Official Game day attire.

Still doesn't explain the fascination of players with hanging out in the clothing store of a booster, playing on his computer, eating meals with him, entertaining girls at the store, posing for pictures with him, and more importantly signing what looks like a LOT of jerseys, helmets, etc. Is this normal behavior? If it happened at another school, wouldn't you think it needed to be looked at?

That's the kinda thinking that causes the Bama cycle to come full circle back to probation.
