Are they just unable to get the same level of Texas recruits they did in SWC days?

The current staff likes to recruit the Midwest and Florida too. We got a freshmen starter on the o-line from Colorado.

Exactly.

Back in the SWC days they were number 2 behind Texas in the state for recruits.

Now they are behind Texas, OU, A&M, LSU, and probably Baylor.
