What you are seeing here is the effect that happened when Arky left the SWC and Texas ended their annual game that gave Arky exposure in the state. They also got high school coaches in Texas to blacklist them as well.
Texas to this day sees the ruination of Arky as one of their crowning achievements. It is part of the reason they refused to play us- they thought we would shrink into irrelevance like Arky did. Luckily those frickers can't read a map and accidentally gave us an easier schedule instead.
I applaud Arky for standing up to Texas, even if it really cost them. They are like Georgia Tech in my eyes. Both stood up to bullies (Texas, the bear) got crushed, but picked themselves up and moved on in their new lives.

This is a good point.
Though Arkansas has 24 players on their current roster from Texas.
Are they just unable to get the same level of Texas recruits they did in SWC days?
