Kids do this all the time fwiw. Recruiting sites don't really have a way to confirm so they take them at their word.

I've seen them report an offer or two that didn't pan out to be committable but I don't think i've seen a kid report all bullshite offers.

well the insider guys for the area get information from the coaches all the time.
