He probably wanted to study and his coach told him that he was only at school to play football. Staley quit because he loves learning too much.

Hell no, it's just the crazy State fans on ED saying such foolishness!!1!1
Yes, he got kicked off. He called out his coach at halftime for shitty playcalling and got sat for the second half. They lost like 38-9. His parents and he apparently took to twitter and blasted the coaching staff. His dad has done this previously on ED, which was a red flag to me at the time.
They had a meeting. Elijah apologized for calling him out publicly -- but wouldn't back down from the idea that he should have the freedom to check plays at the LOS based on what he saw. His parents apparently kept running their mouths on twitter during/after this. He found out later that he had been dismissed.
ALOT of immaturity there that is a cause for concern. No doubt.
But I'm damn sure looking forward to him hopefully joining the basketball team immediately at Christmas -- and either sinking or swimming in a college environment that isn't going to take much prima donna shite(especially Ray). It'll be sink or swim -- and I think he will be OK. Just got some growing up to do.

How does one pursue EE in October? I honestly don't know what goes into being an EE but Id assume at some point a kid has to take extra classes instead of study hall and maybe a summer class or whatever. I have no idea but don't see how a kid can just decide to EE while he's in the middle of his first semester of his senior year.

He's had the grades and credits to do it all along. At least, that's what he/his dad have been telling people. He just wasn't sure he wanted to forego his SR basketball season, despite his dad pushing him in that direction. This has been a possibility since before he ever actually committed to us...
He's a smart kid. Maybe too smart in a way...

All you had to say was "Quay Evans". Forgot about that shite.

So he's going to drop out of high school?

I saw him this summer during 7v7 and he wasn't all that impressive tbh. However, it was a small sample size so maybe he just had an off day.

False. He's Relf+Dak+Russell+Fant+Madkin all put together. The real deal. The complete product.
Except he's a high school dropout that calls out his head coaches on Twitter because he wants to run the offense he wants to run instead of the one they've instructed him to run. His parents also get in on the action and call the coaches out on Twitter as well.
Class act all the way around. DO WANT.
We should compare this guy to Switchblade sometime.

Good to hear. We need a lil attitude behind center. We've had the genuine nice guys over the years. Tyson Lee, Tyler Russell. Glad to get some swagg up in hur.

And we have another qb committed
Who? That dude that can't start for his high school team?
Posted on 10/2/13 at 1:25 pm to OBReb6
That dude that wasn't really a qb until high school and started after the other starter left for a d-1 school.
Not saying that he will be awesome. Just sayin.

Yeah, he's started every game this year. Nick Fitzgerald

Yeah, he's a starter for his senior year. Has good numbers so far...not that that means much.

He's close to offer the top 2015 QB in MS in Gardner Minshew from Brandon HS. Kid is really good.
