Texas would NEVER go after Sumlin for at least one of the same reasons they would never go after Briles...the appearance of taking a coach from a "lesser school".

The other reason, of course, is because the Klanhorns hate black people.

I think this is dead on. They can't stoop to hire a man that "recently" coached high school.

Every good school promotes from a lesser school. Very few coaches take demotion

Mack Brown was at North Carolina from 1988 - 1997
During that time the Tar Heels never competed for a national title (in football)
Before that time the Tar Heels had 0 MNC's in football in their entire history


It was not like Texas went to UNC to hire Dean Smith
