Okay, let me elaborate. What I meant to say is that Ole Miss student populations are different from State students. But I will concede your point that the T-Shirt wearing fans that got their gear at Walmart are not too different. As far as the UT-Austin and Oxford comparison, you obviously do not know much about either because they are more similar that you realize.

Exhibit 1.335 - This is a douchy thing to say.

Austin is a real city...Oxford is a college town.

Such is the facade of OM idiots that fancy themselves elites in a world that considers them average.

Wow. In what ways is Ole Miss more like Texas? Academics? No. While I don't put stock in the USNews rankings, State was ranked ahead of Ole Miss in the most recent rankings. Size of school or city? No. Student credentials? No. Endowment? No.

The med school is in Jackson and is for all intents and purposes a separate campus with a separate culture. The vet school is in all likelihood harder to get into than the med school. I haven't checked recently, though.

Let's drop the pretense and snobbery. From someone who didn't go to either, but who works and socializes with alums of both schools, there isn't much difference at all. The purported differences are pretty shallow and insignificant.
