You answered your own question. We were awful, hired Kennedy, were on the bubble for years and made it last year. That process is called "becoming competetive".

Yeah, but you will just go back to being an NIT team this season. Two more seasons of NIT, Kennedy gets fired. Well...probably.

It takes 7 years to "become competitive" in basketball -- at a school only 5 years removed from a Sweet 16 upon his hiring?
