Just because I'm not surprised (regarding academic dishonesty) doesn't mean it should be tolerated when its brought out. I know for a fact players are straight up given better grades. I remember being in history with a star bball player and he got a 42 on the first test and we had 3 tests total. Maybe he aced the next two tests but i doubt it. Didnt stop him from playing. But if you get caught, it shouldnt be "Well come on! Everyone does it!"

Multiple choice tests typically have 4-6 different answer choices for each question. It's not uncommon for an athlete to receive a version of the same test that has only 2 different answer choices per question. One is correct, one is obviously wrong.
