If you give them $5K, they'll blow it in a week and then spend the rest of the year feeling poor again. What's the limit?

The problem isn't money, it's money management.

We're still maintaining the student-athlete model. If we're going to cold hard cash, why not just start a pro league? This is simply a means for players to be compensated for the value they bring to their respective universities and the organization that govern (NCAA). What is wrong with that?
