Believe what you want, I know for a fact before Auburn hired Cheez Dip they contacted Petrino's agent and he told them that the ship had all but sailed with the Auburn job.

I also know that Long, being the whinney little whizatch he is asked Slive to put out feelers to the rest of the league encouraging them NOT to hire b mf P. It would have put incredible amounts of heat on Long if he ended up at Ole Miss or Auburn and was smoking Arkansas every year. Long is a powerful political type AD who has Slive's ear.

That's because there was a clause in his contract saying he could not leave arky for another SEC West school.

that would be the SEC west clause in the contract he had due to him being so quick to jump "the ship" at every place before pretty much. You believe what you want but it's pretty well known that BMFP has always wanted to have that Auburn job.

In fact, after Chizik was fired he was my first choice. I know a lot of Auburn fans who didn't want him but IMO if he ever did land at Auburn he would probably do very well there. He would be able to recruit much easier for sure.

The problem would be the assistants that would work for him. I'm content with Gus for now, I think he's got major potential but its still a wait and see for me.

To the OP, I think BMFP would be a huge upgrade for miss st. The guys got baggage, sure but IMO it wouldn't take more than 2 seasons (of good behavior and good football) for that to start fading.
