With that logic, based in so much reality, I would say to take a look at the SC v. UNC game.

Take away the Mike Davis 75 yd run and he rushes for 50 yds on 11 carries. That's quite paltry against a team like UNC.

Take away Shaq Roland's 65 yd TD and Shaw is 10-19 for 84 yds.

Hell, take away those two big plays and the score is 13-10.

shite. I saw the game and didn't come away impressed with South Carolina on either side of the ball. I know the game doesn't always work this way, but I like to see a team earn all their points. From my observation, most huge plays given up are due to defensive mistakes and not offensive execution, e.g. missed tackles, bad angle, being out of position, poor effort, not getting off a block, etc. "Earned" points don't happen in one big play and don't require a bunch of defensive errors or penalties.

Roland and Shaw definitely "earned" the long TD. Idk what your definition of "earned" is, but Shaw made the right throw on time and Shaq got downfield behind his defender.

It's not whether the D fricks up or the O "earns" their points. It's a bit of the first and offensive execution.

You really think Davis' TD wasn't "earned"? The man ran for 75 yards without being caught. Pretty sure that is "earning" it.

Actually, I did. Remeber it wastheir first game...as it was everybody's. Alabama didn't look to good in their game either, considering Va. Tech had so many people out. But, I don't think if I were you I would be too concerned. It was first game. Uncharacteristic for you guys to play poorly in your first game...but it happens. SC didn't look like world beaters, but they played a pretty good team. Clowney was sick. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they won the East this year.

I thought defensively they were even more impressive than I assumed they would be and that was with Clowney's "B" game.

On offense, I thought Shaw looked good, but I wasn't impressed with their ability to run block and thought it was the weakest part of their entire team. Davis and Wilds were forced to just absolutely fight for 2, 3, and 4 yard gains at time (which they did and it was impressive).

No idea how to feel about Thompson on the road. He could come in and immediately throw a pick or he could lead a TD drive.
