Yes and no. I get what you're saying, and I absolutely see the parallels to the LSU game last year. USC bought into their own hype before that game, and that, coupled with the flu that went around, let to a drastic let down in a game that they really needed to win.

The difference between this UGA game and last year's LSU game is that we have a lot more film and familiarity between the two programs. No one knew how USC and LSU were going to match up. With regards to UGA, USC has shown the last three years that they have an advantage at d-line. With what little evidence that has been shown so far this season, there is little reason to doubt that this advantage will continue.

All this leads me to reiterate my original position. My head says USC, my heart says heartbreaker.

I thought that excuse only applied to the UF game?

Seriously, as I understood it, it went through the locker room for a stretch of 10 days or so.

I'm not making excuses; USC got their shite kicked in against UF. No excuse.

That said, I would have loved to have seen a rematch in that game. But, hey, didn't happen.
