Sadly, I don't think he is at all. Otherwise, he would have beaten Gates out for the spot and not have been riding the pine at the start of the game...

You MIGHT be right. Remember, though, that he is a true sophomore. It takes time to learn how to use your feet and hands along the line. Using your hands is one of the hardest things for a lineman to learn...that then footwork. It's a VERY hard position to play. Who you block changes from the time you come up to theline until the ball is snapped. the defense comes up in different formations, then they move around and slide....every time that happens a new blocking scheme has to be called. Then when a new play is called at the line, it changes the blocking assignments again. There is a LOT going on down in the line area before a ball is snapped.
