Self-deprecating math-based inside joke that became an online handle.

It has to do with a mistake I made when making fun of some chick I saw at the beach with an infinity sign tramp stamp. I said it wasn't a very creative way to express the intended sentiment and that she should have gone with something to express bigger infinities and joked that I was going to get beth(beth(omega)) (see avatar) tattooed on my lower back.

Beth(n) is the cardinality of the nth power set of the set of whole numbers with beth(omega) being the cardinality of the set of whole numbers. My resasoning was that because power sets proceed discretely, the cardinality of the set of power sets would be beth(omega), so the expression of the greatest possible cardinality would be beth(beth(omega)). The prof I was talking to told me I was wrong and that there could be no expression of the greatest possible cardinality because there is no greatest possible cardinality.

Long story short, I spent the next several days arguing with him and my little brother before realizing that I was wrong and that I'd almost (not really, but jokingly) gotten a tramp stamp designed specifically to make fun of someone else for being stupid but that would have instead been a permanent mark of a moment of my own stupidity. This was all shortly before I started my twitter account and was fresh on my mind and seemed funny at the time that I had to pick a name. I later decided to consolidate all of my online personas under a single name and so went with it for my SEC Rant name as well.

For the record, I'm still not entirely convinced that the logic of my original argument doesn't merit further examination by someone who knows more about set theory than I do, but unfortunately I am not someone who knows more about set theory than I do; so it will have to be someone else. If someone on the Rant takes my idea and runs with it and gets a Fields Medal or something, I expect a footnote somewhere.
