I have never understood why people like to use total defense as a measure of how good a team is. I would think scoring defense would mean more. I mean if you run up 450 yards on me but only get FGs all day then I still did my job as a defense.
The other funny think is even using the total defense rankings the difference between Clemson at 63 and UGA at 31 is only about 39 yards a game.
I love stats but their are occasions where stats are useless.

UGA Scoring "D" #18... taters scoring "D" #48...
So UGA finished 32 spots ahead in Total "D" & 30 spots ahead in scoring "D"...
