Western Kentucky Football 2013 Roster

Broadcast: ESPNews

Key players for the Hilltoppers:

- Sr. RB Antonio Andrews: He's right behind Barry Sanders in NCAA All-Purpose Yards and has eclipsed Bobby Rainey's WKU rushing records.

- Jr. DB Jonathan Dowling: We all unfortunately remember the University of Florida transfer as the guy who picked off Max Smith 3 times in last year's matchup.

Then of course there's this guy:

Line: On most sites Kentucky is anywhere between a 4.5-5 point favorite.

Just some notes regarding the WKU game/season:

- WR Demarco Robinson will be UK's primary punt returner this season.

- DT Patrick Graffree is transferring to EKU, likely due to lack of PT.

- UK WR Rashad Cunningham will not be playing this season but will be practicing with the team.

- Sr. PK Joe Mansour hasn't officially been named starter but it's very likely he will be. Per Stoops he's hit at least two 50+ yard FGs in game/scrimmage situations.

- DE Za'Darius Smith has returned to the field. You can see him talk about that here.

- C Max Godby has played his way to the top of the depth chart and has earned a scholarship for this season. Some video on this.

- Max Smith and Jalen Whitlow split walkthrough reps on Saturday.

- Stoops quote on how the offense will be run with Brown:

quote:

"He'll call all the plays, but obviously I'll make all the decisions, whether it's four-down territory or when to take a shot and have some input and things like that," Stoops said. "But he'll call the plays. But I'll just be there to manage it, and like I said make the decisions on four down or punting and going for it and just, you know, here or there."

Brown will call plays from the sideline, relying on wide receivers coach Tommy Mainord to be his eyes in the press box. Offensive coordinators have different philosophies on game-day positioning, but Brown has good reason why he wants to be as close to the action as possible.

UK will be off tomorrow and return to practice on Monday.

I don't think Stoops should, or will, overlook WKU. They have Petrino and he is a solid game planner and X's and O's guy. I think they will score a few times on y'all but at the same time I still think you win by 2 or more touchdowns. If you guys play to your potential it won't be close.

What happened to UKWildcatsFan? He's a WKU fan so I'm surprised we aren't hearing from him more.

UK needs to win this game to instill confidence with the new regime.
