Are you trying to do a leisurely party type float or are you trying to outdoorsy type floating? This is key to a couple questions you asked

Idk honestly...I guess the leisure type float. We canoe the Buffalo in AR a few times a year. Thought we might try something different. We are staying in New Braunfels and plan on spending the rest of the day/evening in Gruene. So I figured we'd end up at the point in the river just below Gruene.
But I wasn't sure which outfitter was better and don't know anything about the river.
