I was up there a couple of weeks ago. Dickson looks like every other tourist trap these days. Its lost its quirky character if you ask me.
I don't see how it's anything like a tourist trap. It's almost all locally owned and driven by local business. Basically the opposite of a tourist trap.

Dickson looks like its processed and canned...too neat...not like what it used to be at all.
