I'm disremembering a lot of stuff from those days, but was that the 4-7 Alabama team that was preseason number 1 or 2 or something? Another Improbable moment in CFB.

Most underrated so far. I mean I still can't believe Reid stole this one.

Yes Gumps it's an Int. Reid's leg keeps Williams off the ground when he lost control.

Not only that. You can see the ball spin while WILLIAMS supposedly , " possessed the ball".

Doesn't matter. It just made the Natty and 21-0 all the better. LSU thinking they had gotten lucky and beat the best team in the nation, and would face a chump team for the title. Then the stunned look on their faces when they realized they'd have to play Bama AGAIN. Precious.

Got em on the line

Silly gumps always have to try to one up everyone. Check the thread title.

Talking improbable plays not mulligans. Who won the division again. And who cried on espn to get a rematch. The loss is almost worth seeing that escapade. I respected Saban unlike most lsu fans until he did that. He sure changed when he left lsu. After 2003 nc he said we were happy to be there an showcase. He didnt cry like Pete Carroll. I guess you yards rubbed off on him.

It was improbable UF would lose to FSU in '96 the last game of the regular season and get to play them again for the natty when Texas beat Nebraska. Lets not even get into the improbability of LSU making it in 2007. Sh*t happens.

It's not SEC related but the 2006 Oklahoma-Oregon ending still has me scratching my head.

LINK

Not only did the ball not go 10 yards before CLEARLY being touched by an Oregon player, but an Oklahoma player recovered the freaking football.

You lost respect for him because he pushed as hard as he could for his team to get a shot at the title? So you would had rather him just sit back and not lobby for his own team? Interesting.

I am super glad that Alabama has a coach that wants the best for his team. He did absolutely nothing out of line. Worked out great for us in the end.

Of course we did, that's why we were there. Okie St. shouldn't have lost to a crappy Iowa St. team late in the season. Oregon and Okie St. were the lucky ones when Bama got upset by LSU, giving them a shot. They blew it.

Beating 3 teams with a winning record is not winning your way in. You got vote into because some coaches voted OSU 5th or 6th.

I guess you forget Bama BLOWING their shot.

Also LSU didn't luck into winning on nov 5. We played better. 4 of your missed fgs would've been career long fgs for your kicker. Kicking fgs that PRO KICKERS only make 60% of the time, isn't leaving points on the field. It's dumd decisions. I guess you forget Bama made it into LSU's redzone once and was immediately pushed by out. Also Bama went backwards in ot.
