The other curious thing is how poorly we do with Rock Bridge in Columbia. MU has gotten 1, while GA has gotten 3 to go with CU, Nubs, OU, WF and Northwestern.

As a Rock Bridge alum I give a lot of leeway to this, cuz I'm a living example. It's really hard to grow up in CoMo living there for 18 years and not want to get out and experience the world a bit away from home for college like most kids who are coming to Mizzou from some other town do. Mizzou is so very central to everything about the city of Columbia, that whether valid or not, most Rock Bridge and Hickman kids kinda feel like they've already experienced everything that goes with being at and around Mizzou by time they reach 18. It was very, very trendy and cool for kids to go off somewhere else for school when I was at RB for that reason. I myself went to Vandy even though I was a diehard Mizzou fan and never stopped rooting for them first, foremost and only. And I must add that if I had been a star athlete with the ability to don an actual Mizzou uniform and make a career out of it, I probably would have stayed. But I can definitely understand the psychology of those CoMo kids who are good recruits but just want to GTFO for a bit. It's the greatest college town on Earth, no question, but when your parents live 10 blocks down the road, well, you know...

I kind of figured that played a big part in it. It certainly would have felt like I was staying at home and going into college, literally staying at home was the last thing I wanted to do. I was just a bit surprised but completely understand that feeling.
