One other thing I was just looking at...in terms of supplementing ourselves, and I know we have tried for years and never seem to get a good foothold there, but the real potential goldmine where we could compete for top recruits close to home lies directly to our east. In 2013, only 2 of the top 10 players in Illinois stayed in-state for college, with 1 going to the Illini and 1 to Northwestern. Mizzou, with Josh Augusta being part of that top 10, was on par with Illinois and Northwestern in recruiting that state already in that regard. The Top 3 players in Illinois not only left the state, they signed with non-Big Ten schools. In fact, of the Top 35 players in the Rivals rankings for the state of Illinois last year, there were more players who left to go play for out of state non-Big Ten schools (12) than the number of players who stayed home to play for either Illinois or Northwestern combined (8). It's a free-for-all in the Land of Lincoln right now. Might be good strategy to focus more on trying to capitalize.

Dare I say the 'blog' thing went to your head a little, just a little bit. Just kidding, but not really...
