I spent many forgetful and regretful nights there. It definitely is the epitome of a "college bar," though some nights the entire place smelled like straight piss.

Still, it's nice to see it get some national recognition.

Sorry Jefferson, Jaco's didn't make it.

I attended college before the smoking ban. You couldn't see five feet in front of you at Pavlov's past 11pm. Ruined so many jackets. The shower the next morning (+ hangover) was unbelievable... thank god I was 19 and still able to bounce back. Couldn't imagine what one of those would be like at 29.

Oh wait, yes I can, fricking ATL still hasn't banned smoking indoors yet.

Pavlovs' was good. I liked Delaney's though, especially when they had live Music.

Salty Nut and Pavs were my hangouts from 03-07 when I was at Carolina. One of my craziest memories was election night 2004... every time a state was announced for Bush, the bar tenders passed out free shots. There and Jungles were the only places that I felt I never had to worry about using my terrible fake ID.

I frequented the area between 07' and 11'. I was on the salty nut back porch when they put Clowney in handcuffs for being in Pavs. The entire crowd at both bars went ape shite. Actually had a buddy of mine go to jail that night for yelling obscenities at the cops from the salty nut porch. They ran up the stairs, grabbed, him and carted him off. When they released Clowney the place erupted.

Good times.

I remember when Pavlov's opened. Wasn't all that long ago - time flies.

I know the guys who own Delaney's very well. Probably my favorite 5pts bar these days. Freshest Guinness in town and I have dirty old man love for Abby.

I used to bounce at, well, a few places but maybe the one some of y'all might have heard of would be Dundee's/Copper Door.

I remember like yesterday the day they opened Group Therapy my last year of grad school. It was about 1/4 of the size it is now.
