Cam didn't have near the media attention that JFF does. Once again you are comparing Greg Ostertag to Michael Jordan.

Football starts soon. This will all blow over. Yes, Johnny has the mental toughness. That's how he got in the position of being the best college football player.

You just think Cam didn't have pressure cause you weren't
in the SEC at the time.
He had the same pressure. Maybe more.
He walked away smiling an OJ smile and made bank.

He had all kinds of Media attention, what are you talking about? Manziel feeds into it too, you can see that.
The only difference between attention on these guys is that Cam had 1 season and went to the NFL.
Aggie fans act like he's the fricking first kid to win a Heisman and become famous. He ain't. The only person to blame for his trouble in the media is him. He doesn't have to use twitter, he doesn't have to park the wrong way on a street, he doesn't have to sleep through the Manning camp. These are all choices he made.

I guess we will find out soon... or he wont be playing college ball anymore and it won't matter.

He was a redshirt Freshman, so he was just as old as Tebow. Try again.

Went into Bama hyped as a potential Heisman candidate but not front runner, goes on to put on a freakin show. Against Oklahoma, after he had won the Heisman and people started worshiping him, he goes off again. Dont let ESPN and the media think for you. On the field he will be fine. All this other crap is just a modern day soap opera for men ESPN provides
Thus far he has proven that he does not. What he does in the future and how he learns from his mistakes has yet to be seen

I agree he seems to be able to handle himself on the field. The problem is that his off the field stuff might not allow him back onto the field.

Word from practice yesterday
I don't know how it works at A&M, but at Bama the "word from practice yesterday" is usually that the 4th string QB looks like Joe Montana and at least 5 or 6 of our true freshman could start in the NFL right now.
Then the season starts...
Truth.
In fairness though the practices are closed outside of the first 5 minutes at A&M and the folks talking him up are fellow players. The little footage shown of him at practice has him looking very relaxed and even dancing to the music played some while nailing his first few warmup throws.
I don't think Johnny has figured out to handle the media but I also think it doesn't affect his game at all, if anything he seems to thrive under pressure. In the OU game in the first half it looked more like the rest of the team was still distracted while Johnny was 100% locked in. Make no mistake, if he plays this year he is going to be even harder to stop than last year.

quote:His fame came with the freshman Heisman. How he handles it is evidenced by his actions after it. In that, you have your answer.
So now that JM is getting all the fame he's ever wanted can he handle it?

I think JFF is the new SEC Honey Badger, he doesn't really appear to give a shite.
