Coach Bryant felt that 1966 was his greatest team ever, and one that was screwed out of a National Title.
44 points given up all season, demolished #6 Nebraska 34-7, 6 shut outs, all but 1 game decided by double digits (Bob Neyland's Tennessee squad). 7 eventual NFL draftees, led by Kenny "The Snake" Stabler.
As for the 1992 team, that team, if I recall, had 8 players make the All-SEC squad, featured 4 eventual All-Americans and first round draft picks. Only gave up over 300 yards once all season.

It's difficult to compare eras. You ahve to compare it relatively.
Obviously there teams now a days are bigger and stronger than decades ago.
But you gotta say, for that time, which was the most dominant.
