Another great AU-UF game was the 1983 game, #5 UF at Auburn.

Bo started off the scoring with a 55-yard TD run. Then Randy Campbell put AU up 14-0 with a QB keeper on the option play. UF got back in the game with a 41 yard TD pass from Wayne Peace to Ricky Nattiel to make it 14-7. Auburn went up 21-7 with a 17-yd TD run from Little Train James.

Neal Anderson was one yard away from making the score 21-14 but AU safety Tommy Powell knocked the ball out of his hands just before he crossed the goal line, he fumbled the ball forward, and it went out of bound in the end zone.

So, with the score 21-7 and Auburn given the ball at the 20-yd line after the touchback, the first play by Auburn is Bo Jackson taking it 80 yards to the house to make the score 28-7.

Florida made a come back in the 4th quarter, scoring two TDs to make the final score 28-21, but it was too little, too late.

Bo's TD runs and the Anderson fumble are at THIS LINK.

Bo had 16 rushes for 196 yards and 2 TDs against a stout UF defense led by UF great Wilbur Marshall.

Wayne Peace through for 336 yds and 2 TDs with no ints.

IIRC, that was the only game Bo won vs Florida. Lots of good games though.

Game still po's me till this day. If Neal Anderson didn't fumble, that game was ours and so was the SEC championship. The only UF game Bo ran wild on UF's D.

Bo was 1-2 vs UF in his career

1983 game ranks as the 8th greatest game ever played at Jordan Hare according to the Wareagle reader.

8. Florida, 1983 season.

This game was a huge win for Auburn in Pat Dye’s best season as Tigers coach. The ’83 Gators were a strong unit—ranked fifth in the country—and were in fact the only team to defeat the Miami Hurricanes that year. Lots of future NFL players dotted the lineups of both squads. It was an epic clash in a season of epic clashes for then-#4 Auburn.
