Guys, Johnny did indeed meet with the NCAA yesterday (Sunday) for five-and-a-half hours. It's what I've been talking about since last week and why I said earlier today that oa1 and I were getting a lot of the same information on certain aspects of this thing. Frankly, I was planning to sit on the information until tomorrow following the presser because I wasn't thrilled about being the one to turn the press conference prior to the Rice game into a free-for-all. Found out about the meeting happening last week and was able to get one confirmation on Sunday night. The second - which is what I always try to get - came today after the Tap show. I was going to go with it tonight until the "no questions about Johnny" press release came out. At that point, I felt confident that the story could wait until after the presser. Obviously, someone from within A&M felt differently, as Travis Haney got the story and ran with it, which is exactly what I would have done had I been in his position. As I began saying last week, the meeting had been set for a while. It's also why I kept trying to say that nothing and I mean NOTHING - from the investigation's direction to the possibility of Manziel playing or sitting was set in stone. That's still the case. Go back and read everything I've written this week. As opposed to others, I've preached caution throughout this. The meeting was never to 'rubber stamp' anything, it was something that had to be done at some point prior to the season. The good news? I've heard that the NCAA STILL doesn't have the smoking gun needed (or anything of true substance in the way of a cooperative witness or hard evidence) to punish Manziel for accepting money for autographs. That said, I do believe that the NCAA wants SOMETHING to show for their efforts and to send a message that even agreeing to sign those items for free happened with the knowledge that someone would profit off of them. The NCAA will probably let A&M know what their "recommendation" is sometime before the Rice game. Then, it's up to A&M to follow that path, turn a blind eye to it or, if there is a specific punishment handed out, appeal it. The possibility also exists that the recommendation is that they are free and clear and that they can play Manziel moving forward. Each of those are in play as we close in on four days until kickoff. That's where we are at right now. This thing could go either way, though I lean towards Manziel getting the nod on Saturday versus Rice. A lot of back-and-forth between A&M, the NCAA and the Aggie coaches between now and then, however.

Can any of my fellow Ags post Looch's meltdowns and personal attacks at customers here for enjoyment? TIA
