I'm so confused. It's somehow strange that LSU has a fence surrounding the field. If not, there would literally be nothing separating the fans from the first row and the players on the bench.

Not necessarily. Like bbap noted, the front row of stands has a wall. Unlike some of y'all's facilities, we don't have another separate barrier.

A poster asked a clarifying question.
And, no, there isn't anything separating our players from the fans.
But cops & common sense do the trick
. I've never seen an incident, and I'm a season ticket holder of 19 years.
