Because the BIG 6 need the bad teams to keep doing bad and the hot teams to cool down or it becomes a murderer's row for any team to reach Atlanta consistently.

If A&M gets to Atlanta this year, it will hurt LSU and Bama because they could eventually become more talented than both. Likewise, if Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State get to bowl games, their programs will be stable enough to spoil the party of the Big 6. UT's not gonna be a gimmie forever. It's gotten to where a Big 6 matchup on the road is an automatic loss. If Arkansas or Auburn gets back to this top-10 level they were at only 2-3 years ago, it would certainly mean an extra loss or two per year for LSU/Bama.

In 2011, LSU played the toughest schedule in the nation, but Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, and Tennessee were gimmies. It makes it easy to gear up for top-10 battles when you're pulling out starters in the 4th against 3 teams that have won a national championship in the BCS era. Mett even ran 40 yds on a boot-leg vs. OM

So, basically, fear. Not of A&M dominating anyone in the Big 6 head-to-head but just making it that much more difficult to get to Atlanta. The rest of the nation should be scared too. If all of these programs return, and the SEC has to look outside its borders and expands its national recruiting base, billing itself as a minor leagues for the NFL, I only see the gap widening.
