You should consider it, too.

Gus Malzahn has the ability to frustrate good SEC defensive coaches. His HUNH has permeated the mind of his peers to the point that Bielema and Saban have denigrated themselves by requesting rule changes instead of manning up and playing old style defensive "iron man" football within the rules.

Defensive skill is probably not present in 2013, but Malzahn will handily beat Arkansas and will cause one aneurism in Saban before Smart pulls out a harder-than-expected victory.

FACT.

They could definitely surprise some people. I've been saying all off-season they could be the 2012 Ole Miss

What exactly would be a surprise year? They sure can't get any worse. Maybe beating one of the heavyweights? Could happen.. Doubt it. Will be interesting to see what the QB can do.

Gus should have plenty of athletes to work with. The one thing Chiz did well at Auburn was recruit. Losing as many games as Auburn has the past 2 season with that amount of athletic talent is inexcusable IMO.

...with Cam Newton.

You forgot an important part of that sentence. Happy to help, though.

I'll say I was definitely surprised by them in 2012. But I don't think that's what you meant.

I'd agree with you but the it's the way they lost last year. They could get better and still have the same record. Or maybe a little better.

Or they could surprise Hell idk

Love how this thread was created to talk about Auburn yet it's really just a sad attempt at criticizing Saban. Man up and post old-school style and stop denigrating yourself.

I'll say this about Gus. In his one year at Arkansas the offense was better than the year before and not as good after he left. That being said. At Arkansas he did have the most talented backfield in maybe the history of college football and a damn good O line. At Auburn he had Cam and a damn good O line. Let's see what he does without them.

So a surprise year is being 4th in the west? I don't remember Gus's offense fooling too many people when he didn't have a the best player in the nation running it.

Gus' offense scored 10, 24, and 10 against LSU and the 24 needed a 60yaed beast mode run by Cam Newton which I feel isn't something Gus schemed in.
