To recruits Mizzou definitely is 'that' school where the gay guy went.

Isn't a good thing.

This is the reason more so than DGB. Sam coming out may have ruined us and I hate to think that but that's the world we live in. It's been too damn quiet and I think we're fricked.

I think if we have another season like we had last year we will do just fine. We already have four 4* players. I'm not too concerned because things have cooled off a bit.

You need to be concerned, OU has been non stop clowning us the last few months.

I think it's ok to be concerned just not so doomsday TBTB. We've always lost recruits to OU and did ok. Lost Duron Neal to OU and we did pretty good last year. So they get one year of DGB and might outrecruit us a time or two. Really, add Beckner to this class and the rest of the pieces are really just fillers as we already have a pretty damn solid class.

Lock - A+ He's competing and showing out as much as anyone.
Abbington - A I'd give him the + but we only get him for 3 years.
Strong - A Could get the + but don't want to be a homer.
Williams - B+ Any other year, he'd be the best back in the class.
Imatorbhebhe - B+ Just don't know if he's a WR or TE.
Harris - B+ Nothing wrong with this commit from what I've read.
Owen - B Know nothing about him but trust GP.
Hilton - B+ Great athlete. Will add depth instantly.
Fatoney - A If you're going to give a punter a scholly, not many better.

New to the board and wanted to say hello. I love following Mizzou recruiting and this is the best site for information without sniping at each other. I'm glad to join.

On the recent posts, don't you folks think if these recruits had Michael Sam related issues, they would have dropped Mizzou interest months ago and not cancel recent visits? I'm proud of Michael but then again I wouldn't put it past Stoops to infer the entire team is gay to convince recruits not to look at Mizzou.

I hope its just quiet and will pick up if we start the season at 5-0. A lot of really great players wait until after the season to announce. Hopefully we get Beckner and we can fill in the rest of the class with three star guys and still have one of our best classes ever.

TBTB you seem like a good poster but you are by far the most pessimistic poster on this board. Sam is not costing us in recruiting it is the fact that Mizzou is not seen as an elite school by our in state kids let alone studs from outside. If we continue to have success the next few years in the SEC that will change but it will take time to erase that early 80's to 2003 image. I know the 18 year olds today do not remember that time but media and voters do. I mean seriously we are coming of a 12-2 Division Championship in the SEC and the "experts" act like Mizzou is dead in the water. That is our problem image.

That sucks, I really liked Jackson and was hoping he'd commit. It is refreshing to see an instate SEC kid commit to his home school. /s

from the film its hard to tell if he really has 4.4 speed, but he certainly is quick, has good hands and ability to make plays.

Good pick up really.

agree, we have some tall RB's coming in that could easily double as slot backs, like Zanders assuming he chooses to that is.

Welcome paulie. Hope you chime in early and often.

As for Sam, you could be right. I don't even know if the initial Sam coming out would have been a big deal. I think the way ESPN and Oprah and every other news organization made a spectacle of it rubbed people the wrong way.

I hear ya on the start to the season. Get off to a fast start. Get Golden and Ray firing on all cylinders. Get Beckner. Fill in the gaps. Great class.

Shite. That was one I was counting/hoping on. UF just offered yesterday or today I think. Didn't take him long at all to make that call.

My day would absolutely be made if I hear he has decided to switch positions. He is just to much of a play maker to be a QB. I want him getting the ball, not giving it to some one.

Thanks Reedus. I realized the end of my first post was almost the same thing as your previous post. I hadn't looked at yours so it was unintentional to rip of your on the mark statement about Beckner and fillers.

I am bummed about Kalif, since he is tall and we need receivers. There are two out there at about 6'3" and 3 star. One is Emanuel Hall LINK out of Franklin TN and Markeyvious Adams out of South Carolina LINK

I think Hall was just in town and Adams has a Mizzou offer according to 247 but not according to PM. I don't know his speed though. He also has offers from some very small schools and app state is the favorite right now.

I just want to get through this bad recruiting summer and hope Mizzou's record at the half season might change some regional commits minds. If Michael Sam was an issue(although it shouldn't be) it should have passed by mid season.

Naw. Didn't rip anything off. Just glad to know I'm not the only one of that mind set.

I'd like to see us land some WR's too. While I think we HAD depth, with the recent issues (DGB and Copelin) it's going to mean more of these true freshmen play, which means everything behind them gets pushed up a year. If 3 or 4 of them were gonna redshirt this year, WR would not be a position of need in this class. If only 1 or so redshirt, we might have to take a couple more WR's than first intended.

As for Sam, unfortunately, I think there is just going to be a certain sect of society that will always see it only one way but so be it. The bad taste that many got from how it was handled will disappear in time, I agree. Still think that SC game will be huge, not just in the season but in recruiting.

Just watched the HUDL highlights on the Adams kid. Doesn't look elite speed, but the kid is an absolutely huge target with great hands. Big, strong and physical. Watch the block at about 2:15. Love it when a block makes a WR's highlight tape btw.

The whole end of his HUDL is blocking. At 6'4" 185 (He looks bigger than 185 in that film), I wonder if he'd be best suited to put on 30-40 pounds and play a TE spot in our system?
