While USNWR rankings are certainly not without limitations, it is interesting to note the meteoric rise in Baylor's standing over the past few years. They are currently at 77, not that far behind TAMU (65), and well ahead of most Texas universities not named Rice, UT, SMU or ATM. IMO they are correctly placed behind these schools but well ahead of Houston, Texas Tech or TCU.

Their rise is based on more than buildings alone. Look at the relative standing in various disciplines, and changes over the past 10 or so years.

Baylor is a good example of a school that made strategic decisions to improve through improved scholarship and teaching in addition to the addition of new buildings.
