Ole Miss and State are probably better than Baylor. Obviously they have a med school that neither of y'all could hold a candle to, but they are still lowly ranked by Lone Star standards. No real bearing on the Mississippi schools t

I disagree. Baylor has made major strides over the past decade. Fifteen years ago I would have agreed with you. That was before the Baylor adopted and implemented a strategic plan to improve its academics.

Lone Star standards notwithstanding, Baylor is a solid school academically, although admittedly not on par with Rice, UT,or TAMU.

OK, I am done. I can't believe I am defending Baylor. I don't like their school colors. Don't like the politics of Baylor's president. Have never gone their as a student or faculty member. What am I thinking. Guess I am just in a cranky mood.

1. Baylor University does not have a med school -- Baylor College of Medicine is 100% unaffiliated. They actually license the name Baylor from BU -- as does Baylor Health System up in DFW..

2. Don't give them too much credit. They're building lots of stuff on campus, but the academic standards there still lag behind many of the public universities in Texas, and similar-sized private universities nationwide.
