Getting rid of divisions?

I saw an idea the other day about adopting a pod-style schedule like the Big Sky has. In this schedule, there would be no divisions. Each team would have 2 permanent rivals and cycle through the rest of the conference in 4 years, playing every other team either 2 or 3 times. Would y'all like or dislike this? I would easily prefer this to playing teams from the east only once every six years.

I like. Hate the division concept. Take the top two teams in the league each year for the big game.

Would love that schedule format. Let the two best teams in the league play for the SEC champ game. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

Can you imagine the LSU scheduling bitch threads with this system if they drew a conference schedule of:
Bama
aTm
Arkansas
Carolina
Georgia
Florida
Ole Miss
Vandy
?

Vandy- UK, mizzou

It would be pretty cool but, what would determine who plays for the SEC title game? The top 2 in the conference?

I like the idea of being able to play for both a division title as well as a SEC title, but the current model of 6-1-1 is not sustainable. We are gonna have to either go to a 6-2 model with no permanent opponent or a 6-1-2 model with 9 games (preferable). If we can't get the AD's to agree to one of those, then yea, get rid of the divisions, have two permanent games and let the rest rotate with best 2 SEC records playing for the SEC title.

Head to head would be the first tiebreaker. I haven't thought through how it would work after that.

I want a schedule where Texas A&M plays Ole Miss, Miss State, Arkansas, LSU, Alabama and Auburn every year. Find me a system where that happens.
