What. The. frick?

Why are you comparing Dilfer to McCarron?
quote:

Likewise if Dilfer won 5 SUPER BOWLS and had three 40 tds to 4 ints season he would be BETTER than Marino , but he ,like Barker was truly a game manager ( Barker was very good his senior year ) but both had the leadership skills to win a title, Marino didn't.

QBs greatness , IMO , have to be looked at in a 3 pronged manner.

1. Passing ability / stats.
2. Leadership ability
3. Mental Toughness / can you get it done in crunch time.
Ummm... that's not what you said. Are you taking back the "rings are the be-all and end-all" quote? Or do you just not understand what "be-all and end-all" actually means?

Matt Flynn part II.

And that's nothing to scoff at. Flynn was a fine college QB, and if he spends most of his career as a backup, that's fine too.

McCarron blows away Flynn when it comes to stats.

Colt Brennan and Timmy Chang blow away everyone when it comes to stats.

How else would you compare players? You call McCarron "Matt Flynn part 2" when absolutely nothing backs that up except your LSU inferiority complex.

Throw in Landry Jones and Case Keenum and you, statistically, have the greatest 4 quarterbacks in the history of CFB.

Not just raw production but performance stats like Passer Rating, YPA, TD/INT Ratio, etc.

Why are Alabama fans joining in the McCarron bash fest?

Chang was just a yards accumulator, but Brennan had an excellent TD/INT ratio, comp %, YPA, and passer rating considering how many times he threw the ball. Same goes for Case Keenum.

Pointing out the fallacy in your absurd argument is bashing AJ?

Yeah…because C-USA and WAC defenses equate to those you would find in the SEC.

Yeah AJ won't be the GOAT college QB, but if he threepeats AND maintains his insane TD:INT ratio, no way he's not in the conversation.

DING-A-LING to the slow butler.

AJs stats last year as per efficiency was up at the top of all time for a single season, per a college player.

Has Dilfer ever had a season that even comes close to the other top QBs in the NFL alltime per a single season ?

NO.

The point was, the ring isn't the “ only criteria ” but passing stats are not the only criteria either.

AJ has both rings and great stats.

WTH does a Vill. fan know about football......

RINGS ARE THE BE ALL END ALL..... Thats a famous metaphor in sports.

Marino was not a winner because he didn't get it done in crunch time, but he was a hell of a passer.

AJ has great stats and rings.

VILL.

And I'm not saying McCarron is the GOAT. He's far from it. But anyone who believes he isn't a pro prospect is kidding themselves. Many of Manning's detractors in the 1990s said the talent surrounding him at Tennessee was one of the main reasons for his success. McCarron's arm isn't as strong as Manning's but he does have a strong arm and his accuracy is pretty spot on. The only time I saw him off all season was against LSU and A&M and that was due to an injury he suffered to his throwing shoulder in the Mississippi State game.

4th most wins by an NFL starting QB, and the Dolphins won over 60% of the games he started.
