With trillions of galaxies with so many trillions of stars harboring trillions of planets is it reasonable to assume that their is life scattered through the cosmos?

i think it's pretty narcissistic to think otherwise. An infinite number of galaxies each with billions of planets and we are the only one? child please

it is reasonable to assume, but not definite.
Organic, I will say earth like life is very fragile. And the universe very volatile. The odd's of the earth actually existing as it does today are extremely long.

I hope so...or else all this karate I have been learning to defend the planet is pointless.

It would be crazy to think there is no life elsewhere. Whether it would meet our idea of intelligent is a different question, but even then I tend to think the answer is yes.
Good article in current Popular Mechanics but I can't find it online.

Have you ever read the OT?

Basic Life: More than likely. Impossible for it to not exist IMO.
Equal Intelligence: We'll never meet them if they are out there.
Highly Advanced: They'll come to us and at that point it will be too late to stop them.

I'd say just based on the numbers there has to be life somewhere else. It's going to be rare of course to get all the characteristics on a planet to support life like earth does.

not only realistic, but virtually an ole miss lock that there is other life out there.

Scientifically: It is very reasonable to assume that life exist on other planets throughout the galaxy, whether or not they are carbon base life forms like ourselves is an entirely different debate.
Religiously: It is also very reasonable to assume there is life on other planets throughout the universe. What type of Creator/God would make just one planet to test lifeforms and how they interact with each other, without using any of the vast amounts of other planets for their/its creations?

nearest planet that might be habitable is what, 20 light years away? that's 117,572,510,824,968 miles.
and 20 light years is nothing. Observable universe is 93,000,000,000 light years.
there has to be some extraterrestrial life out there. but it's too fricking far away so we'll probably never find out.
