what exactly sounds fishy about it?... there's very little to go on one way or the other. I'm sure it will turn into a classic he-said-she-said, but that's almost every rape case.
You could literally say that (waking up with remorse) about every rape with this little information available.

That any guy would let his friends run a train on his girlfriend against her will. Seems really fricking weird to me.
