State will probably present the team their National Championship rings at halftime of the Egg Bowl and probably say some shite over the loud speaker like "Coach Cohen and the Bulldawgs won their first baseball national title while Ole Miss was at Home Again!"

Dont get me wrong, ALL Ole Miss fans should be a good sport and give State their props cause just getting to this point in college baseball is ridiculously difficult... But that doesnt mean I have to pull for them or not hope a stray foul ball hits their coach in the face and kills him.

He draws them in like flies..

FWIW I was pulling for OM in roundball this year, and have not flamed, started threads, etc during the Omaha run.. I still fail to believe it would be any different if OM were in States position right now. Each side has it's fringed posters, but at the same time I do not blame or look down on OM fans hoping State shits the bed..

You should giveth a frick. I live in this state too, and we're in the same boat. The State fans this weekend we're already insufferable douches. And when I drove across the state line back into Pascagoula and saw that THIS IS OUR STATE billboard, I thought "What's going to happen when they WIN a NC?". I cried the rest of the ride home.

Nor should you. I don't understand why this is so difficult for some people.

Not a flame, but I've only ever seen State pine for support like this. Not saying Ole Miss doesn't do it, but I've never personally seen any examples of OM fans getting upset because state fans didn't support them.

And I'm not even really talking about anybody on this board for the most part, as much as i'm talking about people in real life i know.

hmm either the OP has been changed or I misread it this morning but I thought it originally said we SHOULD be cheering for state. My bad

I was just looking at the MS penalties for defacing a road sign, and they are anywhere from $500-1000, up to 6 months in jail, and suspension of driver's license for 90 days. That would ruin those guy's weekend

They're ok... Pretty much all of MS's police officers, troopers and sheriffs have degrees from State.

Most people said Auburn wouldn't sniff any significance in any sports.

Then in 2010, Auburn lucked out from everyone having a down year and tripped and fell into a National Championship game so it can definitely happened.
