even if switzerland or sweden accepted him id feel like we would send some kind of gov agents in to handle him.

same with any other country other than china and russia.

that is of course if they aren't using snowden as a distraction to get heat off the other scandals/ a reason to tighten the patriot act even more.

We can't be that obvious about it. The world knows who he is now. Having him suddenly turn up missing wouldn't look good for America. Talking about totally abandoning the moral high ground on human rights.

China and Russia won't take him for other reasons, mostly to keep decent relations with the United States. I'm mostly focused on China with this. Xi Jinping is trying to build relations with the US, so he isn't going to take him in. Putin does what he wants, so taking him in clearly isn't in his best interest either or he would be doing it.

I don't think that was the goal, but it certainly has worked out well for Obama. The fractions on POV split the traditional Dem v GOP. The libertarian right and the hardcore progressive left are equally upset. The middle thinks Snowden is a criminal. Probably why he's been pretty quiet about the whole thing.

Finally...nothing drives a point home like Putin riding a bear.
