I'm super bored, and super excited about the 2014-15 season...so I decided to take a crack at the 2014-15 depth chart...
PG- Coleman Tarrant Mitchell
SG- Obasohan Randolph Key
SF- Cooper Randolph Norris
PF- Hale Kessens Lee
C- Jacobs Taylor Lee
This was a toughy.
PG
The starting PG spot is really hard to figure. I see Tarrant as more of a 2-guard, but we are pretty deep at the 2. I could see Coleman and Tarrant splitting the starting job depending on the match-up as well. I decided on Coleman just because he's a true PG.
SG
I think Retin will bust out this year as our 6th man. If he develops his passing this year (which was the worst part of his game last year) he could even be a threat to start at PG in 2014-15.
SF
I see Cooper taking the starting SF job this year and the next year as well because of his scoring ability. He's had the ability since he was a freshman, but he needs to become more consistent and confident in his shot. I see Randolph being the 6th man off the bench in 2014-15 and receiving most of the back up wing minutes.
PF
The PF slot was the 2nd hardest spot for me to figure out. Not sure how good Kessens is and Hale has yet to play a minute of college ball. But since I know Hale has a sweet shooting stroke I gave him the nod, though Kessens could get it for rebounding purposes.
C
I personally think it will be a fight between Jacobs and Engstrom for who will be taking the cut if Lee comes along assuming no one else transfers. I want to believe in both of them, but I can see Jacobs getting into shape easier than Engstrom fully recovering and getting over some of his coordination issues. If Jacobs makes the roster I think he will start at Center and split the minutes with Taylor depending upon the match-ups. I'm somewhat hesitantly putting my trust back in Jacobs because of the new strength and conditioning coach, but like I said before it won't take much for me to turn on him again.
