I disagree. Starkville is a thriving metropolis and great tourist attraction.

My problem is obvious. There are certain towns that exist only because of the university. There is no other draw to them.

Columbia Missouri
Fayetteville Arkansas
College Station

Austin is a college town, but most would agree it has more.

Memphis has more

Athens... probably doesnt have more.

OK, I agree, but the City of College Station, despite owing it's existence to the University, is actually rather antagonistic towards the students. At least that's the sense that many Aggies have. CSPD is effectively the face of city, as far as the students are concerned, and when the vast majority of interactions w/ the City of College Station come in the form of (perceived) ticky-tack citations, resentment builds.

Now, I happen to think a lot of the bad rep the City of College Station gets is because college kids are whiny when they get caught. I don't think CSPD is handing out unjustified citations for no cause.

All I'm saying is that it's perfectly understandable to me that Johnny loves A&M (even if not enough to stay after this coming season) but has soured on CS due to the perceived "unfair" treatment he's received.

An to me it wasn't. I as an outsider would see no between the two.

Starkville is not as nice as your school's city (Austin) but who cares. Sip.

I can understand that. And recruits, who have little or no experience with College Station, probably don't make any distinction, either. Which is why the first tweet was potentially damaging to A&M.

I'm just giving an insider's view, as one who HAS lived in CS, and who knows that Johnny's stance of loving A&M but not caring for CS due to run-ins w/the CSPD is pretty common.

Haha... perfect timing btw...

This is the top story on Yahoo news right now. The wording correlates to our conversation though.

You won't believe what got Manziel so mad
A vague, angry tweet from the Heisman Trophy winner set off a whirlwind of speculation. Can't wait to leave school over this?

Horse shite. I got a parking ticket in my own driveway, which was gravel, for parking on the lawn. I took pictures and brought them to the city. They said "yeah you're right, now pay the ticket." I'm still pissed about that one.

Lived there for four years. Still have a lot of family living there. But I'm only 2 hours away now.

Have you ever been to Baton Rouge, have you sip? Not as nice as your Austin but I enjoyed BR.

The cat is out of the bag. Everyone knows Kaiser is really a longhorn fan.

LSU= 11
Texas = 4

Quit lying, you burnt-orange-clad nutless cow. You've never even been outside of the Austin city limits, you St. Edwards attending, wannabe, pretend sip. You're the worst kind of sip...a fake sip. We'll enjoy beating the team you are a fake fan of by 3 touchdowns in Death Valley.

JFF, bitches!!!

Don't be mad that I told everyone your true identity. You are the strangest Texas Longhorn fan ever. Do all you sips act like this? I know Texas sucks but you don't have to be a shamed of your longhorns after all you were a cheerleader for them for four years.

It burns you up that LSU beat Texas in the national championship and I enjoy watching you meltdown when i mention this fact.

More sports board you dumb texas longhorn sip.

Go back to Orangebloods, you hex rally attending, burnt orange bevo-loving fake LSU fan trolling Daddy on the Rant. Your obsession with all things A&M is more proof that you are a t.u. nutless bovine acting like a crazy jilted woman who follows the ex around and keys his car. Get over it, sip. We don't play your shitty school anymore. We've moved on to bigger and better rivals, like the one with which you affiliate in your fake handle.
