it does sound a bit like him but (like I already argued) there's also a possibility it could be Mark Stoops or someone from his staff as well. people seem to have forgotten the bad blood between Miles and Stoops brothers from the OU/Ok St days
I kinda wondered if Spurrier was behind the quote on Chavis defenses FWIW

This. If he's not measuring his words in front of a mic or cameras he speaks normally. I think it's Les or at the very least a member of the LSU staff.
The LSU quote came from Bama. It's in their best interest to allude to an LSU decline (whether it exists or not). They use it as a neg for recruiting.

Why are you deflecting and trying to pass off what I and this coach are saying as trolling instead of addressing the underlying issues that will bring about the end of LSU football's golden era?

The wording "John Chavis, he’s done the same stuff schematically for what feels like forever." suggests someone who's been in the league. Also I would think it came from an annual rival. If it's an HC, I'd rule out Muschamp, Saban, Sumlin, Beilema, Freeze. Maybe Malzahn or Mullen? ...if it was an HC.
