I thought some of you might be interested in how some of the Louisiana signees are doing at A&M since I have seen them all discussed here quite a bit.

Liucci just put out a nice report on the new fish after a couple of weeks of workouts. The biggest splash has been from none other than Shaan Washington. He is already over 220 and looks like he will be a Sam. It sounds like four positions coaches are fighting over him (lb, safety, tight end, receiver). He has a chance to crack the two deep immediately at Sam because we are starting from scratch there (Sean Porter played nearly every snap and Mike Richardson, next in line, broke his neck).

Noel Ellis looks good in workouts and definitely won't redshirt. Our first five in the secondary are solid but we don't have much after that, which is where ellis and some of the other fish come in. Will be nice to have some depth and not give up cheap touchdowns after we get up 40 in the first half against missouri or auburn unlike last year. My guess is ellis will have a good chance to be the primary nickel in 2014.

Claiborne was not mentioned.

Btw, we could start five lousiana boys on d next year (obioha, alonzo williams, gavin stansbury, floyd raven and deshazor everett).

Anyway, don't take my tone wrong. Not meaning to imply who you should or should not have offered. Just thought ya'll would be interested.

You can only take a certain number of recruits.CLM and his staff have to make hard decisions on who to take. There will be a lot of great players left that can not be offered.Same true for the state of texas where mack brown pretty much has his pick every year.I like les Miles picks most of the time but we will always not agree with all of them.

If Ellis isn't redshirting and you're starting Alonzo Williams, you won't finish 1st or 2nd in the west

A&M is something like 12-4 against texas for in state head to heads in the past 12 months. It will be interesting to see if the number of louisiana recruits we take goes down for us and up for texas as a result.

A year ago, texas would have gotten nick harvey and we would have gone all in for jermaine roberts. This year was reversed. Same for deshawn washington and that louisiana dt that texas took (can't remember if that commitment stuck or not). Just a couple of examples.

I thought summarizing info with proper credit was fair use.

What is the deal with Raven? I thought he would be a starter by now, and Ellis will be starting by the end of the year.

Everybody has always been high on raven, he just hasn't done anything yet. Great athlete, smart guy, good student, hard worker. Hasn't translated yet but he had a very good spring.

I think it's actually 7 positions. You forget running back, kicker, and tail back.

Vermilion- I am sure you know that not all good players were great prospects and not all great prospects become good players. I know alonzo williams wasn't the highest rated recruit but he started and played very well in the cotton bowl as a true freshman in a game in which we held a top ten offense to 13 points. He had a very good spring. He is bigger and much more athletic than spencer nealy who played probably 90pct of the snaps last year and did very well (including absolutely dominating Barrett Jones last year).

Deshazor Everett has turned out to be a much better college player than he was in high school. He was good in high school, but it is pretty hard to get LSU caliber recognition while you are playing for DeRidder

You forgot about Ivan Robinson who was expected to start on the DL but tore his achillies during spring drills. He is expected back for the start of the season.

It is 7 positions: wr, safety, tight end, receiver, wideout, split end and flanker.
