Pretty sure those are made from the ground-up bones of Chinese political prisoners, so you know they are good stuff.

I have been a Electrician for 29 years and can't count how many of those cheap recepticles and light switches I have replaced. Go to a electrical supply house or at worst Lowe's or Home Depot and pony up the cash for a good one. Also as someone before posted, turn off the breaker feeding it and test the circuit to ensure it's dead.
