Shamburger 2013-2014 Highlights
Takeaways - Shamburger isn't afraid to drive the lane if the defense is playing him to tight. He drives with a plan and court vision (unlike Clarkson who's plan usually seemed to be "Charge at the big guy down there. Run into him. Heave up a desperation shot and hope for the foul call). Shamburger can drop a three if the defense isn't playing tight enough. The former Rainbow Warrior will take the charge and plays a more aggressive defense than any player currently on Mizzou's roster.
quote:How much does adding a competent PG improve a team? ALOT.
How much does he improve the team?
quote:Yes
Will it translate to wins on the court?
quote:Probably not. For the most part, the Tigers are a young team. They likely won't have the experience, strength, and toughness to get those road wins that are so critical to making the tourney. That was going to be the case whether or not Kim added any transfers.
Will it end in making the tourney?
But, the addition of Shamburger will make the team more watchable. What complaints did I hear most often this season? "The team doesn't play defense." "The team doesn't have a true PG." "The team doesn't get enough assists." "The team doesn't play as a cohesive unit."
Well, I'm pretty sure bringing in a competent PG should go a long way in improving those issues.

Any word on the Namon sweepstakes or did he just say he was still considering mizzou to let us down easy?

I am sure the stats only mean so much, right? Because otherwise I think we've gone from averaging 27 points per game to about 32 points per game between losing Price but adding Shamburger.
How has he faired against tougher competition? I don't even know what Hawaii plays in...is it the WAC?
How would you judge his talent/ability compared to Clark? And I saw his stats but that's not even half the story. For example, I think Clark is a better talent than a 4.1 points per game and 2.1 assists per game type of player.
That tells me more. Thanks. I hope you're right about the other stuff.
